AFR`s 185cc "Street" heads feature 100% CNC ported intake, exhaust & chambers, A356 aluminum castings and high quality components throughout. Recommended for engines from 302-393 cubic inches, operating up to 6000-6500 RPM. Legal for 1995 and older emissions controlled vehicles under CARB EO #D-250-3 (Part numbers 14xx). Not compatible with OEM pistons. Component upgrade and machining options are available to customize AFR Heads to your specific build.

check out AFR´s all new 185cc intake port emissions legal (CARB EO
#250-3) performance aluminum cylinder heads. With lightweight 8mm
2.020" intake valves, 1.600" exhaust valves, combustion chamber
volumes of 58cc or 72cc, and 70cc exhaust ports, AFR´s new 185cc
Ford cylinder heads are designed for 302-351 cid engines operating
from 1500 rpm to 6500 rpm. A 3/4" thick head deck makes the AFR head
ideal for nitrous or blower applications. Also available with
optional nitrous or blower exhaust ports featuring 70cc ultra high
flowing exhaust ports. These heads will not accept shaft mount
rocker arms. Hardened pushrods required with cylinder heads #1420
and #1422. High flow 2.020 valves might require aftermarket pistons
notched for valve clearance.



Note:

Hydraulic roller cams typically experience valve float at 6000-6200
rpm because of their fast ramp rates. AFR suggests you upgrade your
springs to AFR part #8019, 1.270 O.D. with higher spring pressures
to reduce chances of valve float associated with rpm’s 6200 or
higher, but smaller cams with less than .500 lift can rev to 6500
rpm with the included springs.

Note: Stock 86-93 5.0L must have pistons notched for clearance.
